Introducing a new contributor (ok at this point, every one is new ha) and one of my favorite buddies, Aaron Maher. We have the same last name, but we’re not related… or are we? Not that we know of, but we’re both Australian so maybe. This is a list of his favorite Robert Pattison movies.
*Fun note - there was a time I made Aaron watch Twilight and he thought I meant all of them, but I only meant the first one and he was all ugh I can’t believe I have to watch 4 more of these and I was all uh yeah that’s right, you have 4 more.. *and then I napped.
Robert Patterson has come a long way since being snippy in interviews about Twilight and Harry Potter. Nowadays he goes for more challenging roles and seems to hate himself a little less. In the vein of the McConaissance, we are now in a Pattissance (?)
4. Cosmopolis
David Cronenberg directing a Don DeLilo adaptation, hard to find a project with more artistic merit than this. An early film in the Pattissance, and a signal to the industry that he was more than a dreamboat.
3. The Batman
His return to something more mainstream, but who can say no to batman?
2. The King
A small role but very memorable, unforgettable French accent and performance in what was a sadly disappointing adaptation of Henry V.
1. Lighthouse
Patterson and Willem Dafoe are an amazing duo in this Robert Eggers directed psychological horror/comedy(?) Patterson’s best movie, holds his own in a crazy contest with Dafoe.
And that is it. I will leave you with this -
